My World: Unborn babies deserve a life

When my family and I were in West Virginia about a month ago for my Great Aunt’s surprise 80th birthday party, I saw a poster with a young newborn baby on it that said, “Every life counts.” In some countries and a few states, abortion is illegal, but in my opinion, it should be illegal everywhere, because abortion, in my mind, is a form of murder.Yes, babies are expensive, but if you aren’t ready to have children, then why even try unprotected sex? I have a friend who got pregnant when she was 19, and the father has nothing to do with her or the child even to this day. She at first considered abortion for a few weeks but decided that it was wrong and that she just couldn’t go through with it. She decided to give the baby up for adoption until the moment she was born when she realized she couldn’t do that either. She kept her baby, who’s almost four years old now and completely adorable.

Having a baby is a serious decision, and if you can’t afford to have a baby but end up pregnant anyway, there is the option of giving the child up for adoption, which is the right thing to do!

Think of the movie “Juno,” about a 16-year old high school junior who gets pregnant by another classmate, and she almost has an abortion, but instead she goes through the pregnancy and gives it up for adoption to another family whom she found in the local newspaper. Though this movie is made up, it has a real life situation put into it.

The point is, if the baby’s heart is beating and you have an abortion, is that considered murder, or is it perfectly fine to give up an innocent life for no reason? A beating heart is a living life, and every person deserves a chance at life, and everything involved in it.

But say you find out your child is going to have some serious birth defects or have some mental problems (such as being mentally challenged or disabled). Do you abort the child then or keep it? You keep it and give it the attention and love it deserves.

I find it sad that so many teenagers and young people are getting pregnant every day and are scared to go through with it, so they think the only choice is abortion. Everybody should consider their options and get advice first before they go out and murder their unborn child. You wouldn’t go out and kill your children because you all of a sudden stopped loving them or they did something you didn’t like, would you? That’s the same way it should be with your unborn child.

You shouldn’t abort an unborn baby just because you don’t love it or don’t want it anymore. I’ve never experienced anything like this, but if it was me who was pregnant, I would do everything I could to make sure my baby had the life it deserves! My point here is that abortion is wrong and a form of murder, and everyone deserves a life and chance whether you’re born or unborn!
