Narrow down your career path with FOCUS

Are you currently struggling to pick the right major for yourself? If so, the RWC Career Services Office now offers an online assessment called FOCUS, a self-guided program that will help students make decisions regarding their career goals and major areas of study. FOCUS can help to students to choose a career path, change a career path, or confirm a student’s preferences toward a certain career field. According to RWC Career Counselor Carly Dennis, there are many benefits of using career planning systems like FOCUS. The program is designed to help students become more motivated and goal focused. Students who are invested in career planning tend to have higher academic achievement, fewer transfers and switching of majors, and graduate on time, Dennis said.

And in the future, she said these students tend to have a higher level of satisfaction toward their career.
