TV: “Lockup: Raw” Comes to Cincinnati

I have a confession to make: one of my favorite things to watch on television is “Lockup: Raw.”  If you’ve never seen it, it is a show on CNBC that travels to various jails and prisons to see how the inmates live.

The show includes actual interviews with inmates, who answer questions about their lives leading up to and while they are in prison.

I was shocked to see a trailer online the other day saying that “Lockup” was actually airing an episode from Cincinnati, which was scheduled to air on February 28.  There was no way I was going to miss this episode.

Some people will argue that a show like that casts a bad light over Cincinnati, and I can’t disagree with that statement at all.

Unfortunately jail is a part of life for some Cincinnati residents.  There is nothing that can be done to change that.

Overall, the “Lock-Up: Raw” Cincinnati episode didn’t turn out as bad as I thought it would. The entire episode was based around one case and truly didn’t follow the format of a normal episode.

Even in that little time there were some glaring things highlighted that need to change to improve Cincinnati.
