Fashion: Your 2010 Guide for Spring

Hey! All you fashionistas listen up! It’s a brand new year, for brand new beginnings. Whatever your new year’s resolution, you need to bring it in with style. I’m going to tell you what’s hot! And what’s not! So pay attention as I bring you your 2010 guide to the newest in fashion and beauty. What’s the newest hemline?
This spring it’s all about the mini! Short hemlines are flirty and fun, so be ready to bare those gorgeous legs. Anywhere from above the knee to thigh-high is fair game.

What hair color and styles are in demand?
Think natural hair colors this spring and opt for a more warm and subtle approach. The cut of the season is a longer, layered bob that goes past the shoulders, paired with heavy bangs. You can go Meagan Fox long or Halle Berry short; all is fair game this season when it comes to length as long as the hair is neatly groomed.

If you’re on the go, tousled braids with tons of texture look great, and girlie headbands still work too! Be aware that overgrown extensions, chunky highlights, and sculpted do’s that require tons of gel and lack movement are all out!

Is there a shoe of the season?
This spring bring on the statement shoes! Clog sandals with wooden soles and super high platforms are back. Be sure to keep your cut out booties, sky high stilettos, and caged sandals in rotation too. Guys dig a chick who isn’t afraid to wear a daring shoe.

What’s new in accessories?
Notice-me necklaces are still in, as we saw this past fall, but the newest in statement jewelry are bold bangles and chunky cuffs of all shapes and styles, so don’t be afraid to overdo it! Also don’t forget to protect your eyes from harmful UV rays, because, as you may have guessed, over sized cat-eyed shades are still in!

What are some ways to keep skin looking healthy and fresh?
Ladies, it is a must to clean your skin every night before bed. Consult a dermatologist to determine your skin type-oily, dry, or a combination-and clean your skin accordingly.

Also, get plenty of sleep. Nighttime is the best time to use creams and serums that restore moisture and prevent signs of aging. Exfoliate at least once a week to remove dead skin cells and prevent clogged pores and breakouts.

Lastly, opt for a moisturizer with antioxidants and an SPF of 30 or higher to protect your skin from free-radical damage.
