A country run by a bunch of monkeys

I have started to really wonder lately if our government is run by a bunch of monkeys. I can see them now, sitting around a large Camelot roundtable making funny faces and pointing at pictures. I immediately have to start thinking bad thoughts of George W. Bush’s policies even though he is so loved right now. I wonder how we can expect to feel safe in a country with two leaders, one who is a hypocrite and one who has no ambition.

I will begin with John Ashcroft, whose policy that states should have the right to set their own laws was hammered into our minds during his appointment process. Yet, only a week ago, he stepped into Oregon’s business, which passed a unanimous law for assisted suicide. The law has been in effect long enough for over twenty assisted suicide cases, all problem free. So I wonder why Ashcroft would be such a hypocrite. I think we know the answer: he’s a politician.

Next the ever touchy George W. Our president has announced that by the year 2017 we will have a baggage screening program comparable to other countries. As of right now bags go virtually unattended onto planes.

I wonder why it is that JFK could put a man on the moon in less than a decade? No matter how horrific of an invention the atomic bomb was, we were the first to create it, and we are supposed to be the greatest country in the world, but it will take almost two decades to set up a baggage screening system. Where is our President’s ambition?
