For most of my school years, I never really grasped the concept of homework. I just never liked doing it. I would rather do nothing than my homework. In high school I received an array of grades that ranged from the very top to the very bottom of the grade spectrum.
Once in my high school English class, I received two F’s and had to receive an A on the final exam to pass the class. After studying really hard and focusing on my task, I aced the exam and passed the class. Even after experience like the one I had in high school, I still find myself lazy to get started on homework or projects and often have to complete a whole lot of work in a short amount of time.
Why do I tell you this? Well, with fall quarter being half over, students are haunted with thoughts of final exams and final projects, and I thought the students of RWC should know there is light at the end of the tunnel. I call it College Study Skills, and so does RWC.
The College Study Skills Center has a dedicated, well trained staff that can help any student improve his or her study skills that will help them prepare for projects and those dreadful mid-terms that are going to be here before you know it.
I know that I am not the most organized person, but after talking to Leigh Lyons, one of the staff at the Study Center, I thought it might be a good idea to find some help on taking notes, studying for test, and becoming more organized. I plan to take College Study Skills I when Winter quarter begins.
The bottom line, folks: if you’re at the end of your rope and you need help studying for a test or getting organized for a big project, let the people at the Study Center help you make your life easier. And remember, getting started is half the battle.
The Study Center is located in the Computer Concourse in Muntz Hall.
