RWC is opening the 2005-2006 ARTrageous Saturdays season on November 12 with an Art Reach Touring Theatre’s “The Emperor’s New Clothes.” On December 3, the college offers Cincinnati-Dayton Taiko Group’s “Big Drums.” This show is filled with thundering rhythms from the Chudaiko and Odaiko drums. The audience will learn how Taiko drumming started as folk music or Japanese festivals and will get to see the drums up close after the show.
On February 4, 2006, literature will come to life with “The Elephant’s Child,” a theatrical interpretation of Rudyard Kipling’s classic. On March 11, 2006, “Dinosaur Rock” will come to RWC. This show, filled with lively characters, award wining music, and audience participation, has won rave reviews from Houston to Washington D.C.
“The Gizmo Guys: Comedy Jugglers” will close the 2005-2006 ARTrageous Saturdays on April 1, 2006. The juggling duo has appeared on television, won international juggling competitions, and taught at top circus schools.
ARTrageous Saturdays, a performing arts series for children, is produced by RWC with support from the City of Blue Ash. Performances are at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the RWC Theatre.
