Two Hundred Attend Read-In

According to participants, the 24th Annual National African American Read-In on February 25 was a huge success.
Twenty-two UCBA faculty, staff, and students read aloud to over 200 attendees. Readers shared excerpts of their choice ranging from Maya Angelou to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to LeRoi Jones.
Guest speaker Cincinnati Council Member Yvette Simpson also shared her story about movement from Cincinnati Public Schools to UC Law School and how she has been inspired by African American literature throughout her journey.
A soul food lunch was provided by Ollie’s Trolley.
