The RWC campus has 355 new computers, which are found in the Library, the Computer Concourse (M112A & M112B), M210, M213, M349, SAHB, the Networking Lab in M265, and several other locations throughout campus. * Remember that food or drink of any kind is prohibited in any of the labs. This will be strictly enforced at all times.
* It is highly recommended that students who wish to use multimedia software with audio capabilities use personal headphones.
* Students also need to remember to treat the computer labs similarly to a library, which means minimal use of cell phones.
* Student course work has priority over game playing. Be courteous.
* Students need to remember that all computers use flash drives for saving information for future use.
* Students are prohibited from installing any kind of software on any of the computers.
* If problems arise with either the hardware or software, please let the lab assistant know. It is not recommended that students try to fix the problems themselves.
All users should be aware that compliance with applicable licenses and agreements regarding any software being used on a lab station is to be expected.
It should also be noted that “alleged” violation of these policies, including those listed under Section M, Part II, of the Student Code of Conduct for the University (SCOC), which covers the misuse of information technology and nonacademic misconduct, is not limited to destruction of property and disruption/obstruction.
Complaints and/or violations of the SCOC or any of the computer lab policies can result in disciplinary actions as stated in the SCOC. Repetitive complaints and violations can lead to the inability to access the labs or other parts of the campus as stated in the SCOC.
