The importance of starting the quarter well

It’s just about that time in the quarter where I think, “Okay, that’s enough; I really need this quarter to be over with.” I know by this time that I could have done a lot of things differently, like turn in assignments on time and read more of my text book, but it’s too late to get that time back. Every time I want the quarter to end, I also want a new quarter to begin. New quarters mean a fresh new start to do things better than the last quarter, and starting off well is a really good thing to do because you get into good work habits faster.

I know myself well enough to know that the two plus years that I have been at RWC I have had my times where I started out really good and started off really bad, and the times that I got started on the right foot and completed assignments faster and better, I felt better about my self and I wasn’t stressed out.

I want to finish Fall quarter as well as I can from this point on and start Winter quarter on the right foot. I plan to take College Study Skills during winter quarter, hoping that this class will set the groundwork for a successful rest of the school year. Talking with the staff has reassured me that they are very caring people and are dedicated to helping students develop habits and attitudes of success.

So if you felt like your performance in a previous quarter was less than stellar, or maybe you weren’t as organized, or you just want to get the most out of your college classes to help ensure a better future for your education and career, enroll in College Study Skills for the Winter quarter. Good luck.
