RWC community events showcase the arts

Throughout the year, RWC hosts three different kinds of events that showcase the arts.ARTrageous Saturdays is a performing arts series produced by RWC along with support from the City of Blue Ash. Events from the past have ranged from puppet shows to children’s concerts.

The Feb 4 show will be “The Elephant Child.” This is a theatrical version of Rudyard Kipling’s story of a young elephant’s journey for knowledge and truth.

The March 11 show will be “Dinosaur Rock!” This show has had award winning music and audience participation. It has been everywhere from Houston to Washington, D.C. This performance is about a yodeling paleontologist who finds a way to bring dinosaurs back to life.

Rhythm ‘n’ Blue Ash, formerly known as Concerts at RWC, is a series of concerts that appeal more to the adult audience at RWC. On February 25, Rhythm ‘n’ Blue Ash will be closing out its season with Conrad Herwig and Brian Lynch presenting “The Latin Side of Miles Davis and John Coltrane.” Herwig and Lynch are a Grammy nominated group for Best Latin Jazz album.

ARTivities events are hands on workshops for children, held from 10 a.m. to noon, at UC Education Center at Blue Ash Elementary School, which is next door to RWC.

On January 28, Joe La Mantia will present Sculpturing with Large Magnets. On March 4, Tom Jordan will present Computer Music, and on April 8, Tom Sparough will present Juggling.

ARTrageous events are held at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the RWC theater. Rhythm ‘n’ Blue Ash shows are held at 8 p.m. in the RWC theater.
