The new film “Annapolis” is about Jake, played by James Franco. Jake is a blue-collar kid who gets accepted into the Naval Academy in Annapolis. He then finds that there are still many battles ahead. As a plebe, Jake decides to prove his determination by entering the Brigade Championships, a boxing competition in the Navy, where he faces off against his upper classman, Lt. Cole, played by Tyrese Gibson.
The movie is very interesting to watch, especially if you are planning on joining the Navy. It shows what goes on in the Navy with the training and how you can get through it.
Also the movie provides a little insight about the Naval Academy’s training and responsibilities. But the deliberation of the movie itself is simply old-fashioned.
I found it dull, and the phasing is slow. This is a good movie, nonetheless, but you just have to have patience and determination to actually finish it, just like joining the Academy.
