Look for two new courses within the Electronic Media Technology Degree Program being offered Spring Quarter 2003. These courses are part of the new Animation Certificate created at the beginning of the school year. The first class is called “Motion Graphics” and will introduce students to the computer program Adobe After Effects. It will deal with the application of moving graphics, titles, and logos for film, video, multimedia, and the web. The class is open to all students, but they must have taken Digital Graphics as a prerequisite.
The second class is currently listed as “Drawing for Animation.” This introduces students to the fundamentals of computer-based drawing and image manipulation for creating motion within animations. This class is open to all students and has no prerequisites.
The History of Animation has also been formed from a Special Topics course previously offered by the Electronic Media Technology Degree program. This elective has no prerequisites and is open to students in any degree program.
