Thanks to a tip I recieved via e-mail, I found out some information about the online student directory. The FERPA laws were changed this past August to include directory information and e-mail addresses on the internet. Why we were not effectively notified, I haven’t got the foggiest. However, I do have information about how to remove yourself from the directory. You have to contact the Registrar’s Office at 556-9900 and ask for paperwork to change your FERPA code. If you want to e-mail the request, the address is Directory.Service@UC.edu. After filling out the paperwork, your name should be removed from the directory.
By the way, here’s a crazy thought. If everyone called to have their names removed in the same week, we could really let the Registrar’s Office know how we feel while driving them up a wall.
