“Mission Impossible 2” is a sequel that thrives on action and adventure, unlike its plot driven predecessor.Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is an IMF agent assigned a mission that will require him to bring in a team of experts. The mission impossible is to stop a former IMF agent from stealing a German manufactured virus, which is powerful enough to destroy thousands of innocent people.
Tracking down an agent is almost impossible, so Hunt has to find another way, someone who has been close to the target, a former girlfriend. Ethan quickly finds and gets close to Nyah, who despises her former boyfriend, Sean.
The action heats up when Ethan has to use Nyah as bait. She must get reacquainted with Sean without blowing her cover. Her objective is to find out what Sean intends to do with the virus and when.
John Woo (Director) uses a nice blend of action and plot to balance out the movie. Mr. Woo also included the artistic slow motion effects that his fans are accustomed to seeing.
Tom Cruise’s character has a cooler demeanor than in the first “Mission Impossible.” He grew out his hair and replaced the tuxedo with leather.
The soundtrack is also over the top with Metallica, Rob Zombie and Limp Bizkit leading the way.
