On May 19, 2012 the University Of Cincinnati held their second annual Stadium Step Challenge. This Challenge is held in the heart of UC’s campus, at Nippert Stadium. This event lasted from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. The event had a great turn out and lots of great memories were made at the event.
This event brings the whole Greater Cincinnati community together to help out student philanthropy. The philanthropy focus is the Cincinnati Diabetes and Obesity Center. The Stadium Step Challenge encouraged participants to walk, run, and or climb the steps in Nippert Stadium. Nippert Stadium has nearly 1,500 steps in the lower bowl.
Also at the event, the Campus Recreation Center was offering group fitness stations on the field for those that wanted to participate but were unable to run, walk, or climb the steps, and those who could participate but just wanted a little bit more exercise.
This year the goal was to raise $5,000, which is twice as much as their goal last year. All of the money that they raised went to the Cincinnati Diabetes and Obesity Center, which is a branch at UC Health.
Hopefully this event will become a tradition that will last forever at the University Of Cincinnati.
