Bring your books to the RWC Writing Center! The Writing Center is looking for people willing to donate old books and magazines for their book drive, led by Liz Daniel, an adjunct English professor at RWC. Most of the donated items will go to the Warren County Correctional Institute (WCI), with any remaining items going to the Hamilton County Public Library for their Friends of the Library Book Sale. Books need to be dropped off by May 5, as this is the day that the books will be delivered to the Correctional Institute.
This is the second book drive that the Writing Center has sponsored. Twenty-eight boxes of donated books were delivered to WCI at the end of Winter Quarter.
WCI desperately needs a wide assortment of books. Types of books include children’s books, textbooks, literacy or GED help, non-fiction, fiction, poetry, or anything that you’ve ever enjoyed reading.
WCI also has a reading room for children, so that the inmates can enjoy reading with their children. The books collected during this book drive can let the inmates explore the joys of reading while passing the time in a fulfilling way.
To donate any books or magazines, just drop them off at the Writing Center, 112-I Muntz, or call Liz Daniel at (513) 745-5733.
