The UC Bearcats took back bragging rights in the Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout on Feb 10 when they defeated the Musketeers by eleven at the Fifth Third Arena. The rivals, who are separated by a mere four miles, have played 72 times, with UC decisively owning the overall series 46-26. The win stopped UC’s two game losing streak and put them at 18-5 before a loss to DePaul on the weekend.
Jason Maxiell and Eric Hicks helped UC gain the advantage with 15 and 16 points, respectively. Stanley Burrell had 12 points for Xavier, who is now 12-9.
The Bearcats look to take the top spot in their final C-USA tournament at Memphis, March 9-12.
