Vet Tech events highlight busy month

The RWC Student Chapter of the National Veterinary Technicians Association in America (SCNAVTA) has some important events coming up. Starting now until November 1, the group is accepting entries to its first annual “Pet Costume Contest.” Entries can be submitted in person at the Vet Tech building or Student Life office in Muntz Hall.

Flyers are also being posted with an address for mail-in entries.

There is a minimum $1 donation per entry, and all proceeds will be divided between a large animal rescue and a small animal rescue. The organization promises great prizes for the winners.

At the end of October, SCNAVTA will be conducting its second annual Santa Paws drive. Last year a whole truck load of items and cash was donated to the animals at the Humane Society of Preble County. There will be bins placed throughout the campus for contributions and donations. Do not leave cash donations in the bins. All cash donations should go directly to the Vet Tech building.

Also, October 14-20 is National Vet Tech Week. More information about SCNAVTA and its activities is available from Kim Myers at 936-7175.
