Film Club to Show Selected Free Films

This semester the UCBA Film Club is hosting a number of movie showings, which are all open to everyone and free of charge.
The next showing will be on February 20, 3-6 p.m. at Muntz Hall Room 357.  The movie is “Conviction,” starring Hilary Swank and Sam Rockwell.  “Conviction” is about two children: Betty Anne Waters (Hilary Swank) and her brother, Kenny (Sam Rockwell), who have had a rough childhood.
Kenny ends up being a bit of troublemaker and is convicted of a murder that he says he didn’t commit.  His sister believes him and decides to study to become a lawyer so she can prove his innocence.
Other showings are scheduled for March 13 and April 17.  These will also be from 3-6 p.m. at Muntz Hall Room 357.  The movies to be shown have not been decided yet.
There are also a couple special screenings planned, with dates and times to be announced later.
One will be a Black History Month Screening in February, and the other an Oscar short series in April.
More information will appear in the Activist when it becomes available.
