Amy Edelman named RWC’s Outstanding Student of the Year

RWC held its 2007 Student Awards Ceremony on Friday, May 18. Numerous awards were distributed by student organizations and academic departments and programs.The top award for the evening, for Outstanding Student of the Year, went to Amy Edelman. Ed Lemen, Erin Zeek, Dana Nicole Hamilton, and Justin Boone were also nominated for Student of the Year.

Aimee McLean was named the Student Government Member of the Year.

Todd Uttley received the Outstanding Service Award for Media Production.

Angela Clark received the Outstanding Service Award for Media Support.

Joe Bou, Lauren Bowser, Holly Kenerly-Hurley, Ashlee Erin Lyons, Aimee McLean, Jannis Schelenz and Rick Yerigan were named Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges.

Kelly Beckstedt, Karla Brockmeyer, Bridgitte Clarke, Chad Collins, Chester Durham, JoAnn Edwards, Joan Greene, Annette Helm, Greg Himonidis, Tina Hite, Susan Keane, Jonathan Kyrlach, Cheryl Logan, John Rogers, Tammie Streib, Gregory Trout, Nathan Vazquez, Robert Waldon, and Stacey Whitt were nominated for Alpha Beta Gamma, the honor society for associate degree Business students.

Megan Richards was named the Outstanding Communication Design Graduate.

Dawn Tucker is the Criminal Justice Student of the Year.

Maria Wheeler is the Education Student of the Year.

Ashley Phillips is the Psychology Student of the Year.

Andrew Pardi is the Social Work Student of the Year.

Emily Johnston is the Biology Student of the Year.

Diane Setty and Nicole Holtmeier are Outstanding Students in Accounting Technology.

Gregory Trout and James Clevinger are Outstanding Students in Business Management.

John Rogers, JoAnn Edwards, Terry Mullins and Jonathan Kyrlach are Outstanding Students in Pre-Business Administration.

William Williamson was recognized for Outstanding Achievement in First Year Chemistry.

Guobin Jiang, Emily Johnston and Khanh Luong achieved Excellence in Chemistry.

Lance Wray is the Outstanding Computer Support Technology Degree Student.

Susan Tomboly is the Outstanding Computer Support Technology Professional Certificate Student.

Symantha Stevens received the Dr. Ronald W. Krantz Award for Overall Excellence in the Dental Hygiene Program.

Mary McGrath received the Herbert & Josephine Frankel Family Award as the top second-year Dental Hygiene student.

Mary McGrath and Jennifer Williams were selected for Sigma Phi Alpha, the National Dental Hygiene honor society.

Jennifer Williams received the Colgate Oral Pharmaceutical Award for a graduating student, voted on by peers.

Abby Saarmann received the Hu-Friedy Award for Dental Hygiene clinical excellence.

Jannis Schelenz was named the Outstanding Electronic Media Technology Associate’s Degree Graduate.

Jason Levy was named the Outstanding Electronic Media Technology Professional Certificate Graduate.

Brandon Farmer was named the Outstanding Media Criticism and Journalism Certificate Graduate.

Rick Yerigan was named the Outstanding Production Certificate Graduate for Broadcast Media.

Joseph Bou was named the Outstanding Electronic Media Technology Student Intern.

Brandon Farmer was honored for Outstanding Achievement in Media Writing.

Tyler Cherry, Lawrence Cole Jr., Michael Harris, Rick Marshall, Thomas McDermott, John Moenster, Michael Weaver and Ronald Wilkins were recognized for Excellence in Emergency Medical Services Technology.

Scott Wick was recognized for Outstanding Achievement in Chinese.

Shawn Wood was recognized for Outstanding Achievement in French.

Melissa Motz was recognized for Outstanding Achievement in German.

Sarah Schulte was recognized for Outstanding Achievement in Spanish.

Robert Barnes and Natalie Plunkett were given Department Honor Awards from the History, Art History, Philosophy and Political Science Department.

Katie Sheldon, Nathan Vazquez, Brittany Bell, and Shawn Wood are the Outstanding Students in Business Calculus.

Kenneth Wurzelbacher is the Outstanding Student in Engineering Calculus.

Shannan Reider, Jason Arnold Baughman and Stephen Hendrix are the Outstanding Students in Physics.

Rebecca Rupp received the Academic Excellence Award from the Nursing Department.

Priscilla Greene received the Caring Nurse Award.

Karen Coors received the Commitment to Quality Nursing Practice Award.

Betsey Kohls and Holly Janzen were recognized for Excellence in Clinical Practice.

Kristen Burke, Kathleen Cyr and Bonita Courtney are the Office Information Tecnology Students of the Year.

Donna M. LeFevre and Jerri R. Sawyer were recognized for Clinical Excellence in Radiologic Technology.

Brandy M. Attewell and Denise Couture were recognized for Academic Excellence in Radiologic Technology.

Denise Couture was recognized for her Outstanding Performance by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.
