Why all the fuss? The draft comes to an end. So many teams every year trying to pick that future franchise player. Some will be that, but many will not.
Case in point: Brady Quinn. I know I might mess with some people’s feelings, but honestly what makes people believe he’s so great? Is it his inaccuracy? His way of playing poorly in big games? I honestly do not know.
I will admit he was a steal to the Cleveland Browns at the 22nd pick, but a steal doesn’t mean the player is good. It’s something to look forward to in the future.
If he can not win big games in college, what makes people think he can guide a team to the Super Bowl. Some people might say that Peyton Manning couldn’t win the big game in college, and he still won a Super Bowl, but in the playoffs he still struggled, and in every playoff game last year, the Indianapolis defense won the games.
Every team knew that Brady Quinn wasn’t that good. That’s why 21 teams passed on him, and the Cleveland Browns had already passed on him once.
The pick was something for the fans to be glad about in my opinion. He’ll put people in the stands, but will he win games? The Miami Dolphins had been criticized for taking Ted Ginn Jr. in the first round over Brady Quinn, but the Dolphins are a contender right now, and there is no way they want to risk that on drafting someone they know is not great at his position, especially the most important position on the field at all times. They didn’t do a good thing in drafting Ted Ginn Jr. so high, but they did a great job in not drafting Brady Quinn at all. Ginn is a a potential game breaker every time he touches the ball, but Quinn is a game changer (liable to lose the game for you anytime he touches the ball).
