Park within the lines, stay within the law

Attention all staff, students and visitors: As of Tuesday, January 17, the parking laws are being enforced. All students and visitors are only allowed to park within the white lines. Faculty and staff are to park within the yellow spaces. The blue lines are handicap spaces and the green lines are clinic spaces.

All spaces are marked by signs that designate who should park there. If you are found parking in the wrong space, you will be given a written warning as a first strike. Strike two occurs if you are found parking in a faculty space without a decal. The fine is $15, and if you don’t pay it within five business days the fine will double. Additional fees will be added if you decide to park in a fire lane or other restricted areas.

We all know it’s a hassle to get to school and find a decent parking spot. We also know that parking in the wrong spot in order to avoid walking the extra distance will come with a price that you will have to pay. To minimize crowding, a new small parking lot has been been added behind the pavilion.

Tickets received from the security staff don’t get added on to your driving record but the cost of the ticket is added to your school bill and if you wait to long to pay it you will eventually have to deal with blocks being put on your account. Free parking decals are available since parking fees are included with tuition fees. You can obtain a parking decal from security, which is located in Muntz Hall room 134. You will need your driver’s license and your license plate number.
