UC Establishes New Veterans Writing Group

UC has created a new writer’s group for veterans, called the Cincinnati Veterans Writing Group (CVWG). Veterans of all ages are welcome to join and write about experiences in all different branches of the military-either in fiction or nonfiction. No previous writing experience is necessary, just a desire to write and share stories with others.
The first meeting will be held in Rohs Street Café in Clifton on Monday, October 22, 6:30-8:30 p.m. The group will begin by discussing what the goals should be and how the time together will be spent, but everyone should be prepared to do a little bit of writing as well.
Future meetings will be more focused on drafting and sharing stories together, as well as encouraging other writers and learning how to prepare more professional writings (if desired).
The group is led by both Laura Micciche, Associate Professor of English at UC, and Mark Manibusan, graduate student in the fiction writing program at UC, writing teacher, and OIF veteran.
To RSVP or simply ask any questions, contact Laura.micciche@uc.edu or manibume@mail.uc.edu.
There is no cost to join.
