Music: Sad end to a great blues club

I have the blues over the closing of the Little Chicago House of Blues. This was one of my all-time favorite places to spend Saturday nights, have a couple drinks, eat good food, and listen to some good ol’ blues. Little Chicago House of Blues was a small, friendly, family owned blues bar in Hamilton. The house was packed on Friday and Saturday nights. People came from all over to hear some of the wonderful muscians that played there.

They had local and national acts in to perform. One of my favorites was Them Bones. Not only was the music awesome, but so was the food. The place was known for its Reuben sandwiches, and all the appetizers were amazing.

I went Saturday to get the information from the owner to write this article, and it was dark and the doors were locked. I went back on Sunday and found signs posted on the doors that the place was closed for good and thanks for all the patronage.

This saddened me greatly. I have found it hard to find a good blues bar in Cincinnati, so letting go of this place is really hard for me. I am really sorry that The Little Chicago House of Blues has closed its doors. Maybe, just maybe someone will come along and open it back up so I can get my jones for the blues filled.
