Instagram, a free photo-sharing app that acts as a social network, was launched in October, 2010.
Now available not only for all Apple products like the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch but also for Android products, the app allows users to take photos, apply effects to them, and share with followers.
Instagram is unique because it connects to other social networking services such as Facebook and Twitter.
The most recent addition to Instagram is web profiles. Now, users not only have access to the program on mobile accessories, but it can also be accessed and used online.
To date, Instagram has over 100 million registered users.
