RWC renovation plans are continuing to make progress. Dean Cady Short-Thompson, RWC Building and Grounds Committee Chair Carla Henderson, and representatives from the University Architect’s office recently interviewed five architectural firms for the two major renovation projects of the Annex and Muntz. The architect chosen captured what Dean Short-Thompson and staff were looking for in the design and building of the renovations, along with the understanding of RWC’s purpose. However, the selection of the architect is pending UC approval, so no name has been announced yet.
Once the architect is on board, the design and construction will take place. This step will take the longest, due to the details that will have to be addressed.
The designing and architectural planning will take longer than originally expected, the Dean said. The renovations are not expected to be completed until 2013-2014.
