Celebrate Culture Diversity at Worldfest

During the last days of the month of April, Raymond Walters College will be hosting Worldfest. Culture and diversity is celebrated during the event as emphasis is placed on the diversity of RWC. On Friday, April 22 from 12-1:30 p.m., digital images of the staff, faculty, and students will be in the Muntz Lobby to reflect the diversity of the campus. There will be snacks and a commemoration of Good Friday.

Then Worldfest really kicks off on Monday, April 25, at 12-1:30 p.m. on Courtyard Commons with a welcome, a world flag display, a reception, and music of the world. A Peace Conference focusing on peace and gender roles will also be held in SAHB 100 from 12-2 p.m. RWC’s Walk for Health will be held from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on campus grounds.

In the Muntz Lobby on Tuesday, April 26, there will be a celebration of the Philippines from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, April 27, the Diversity Fair will be held on the Courtyard and Commons from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Various booths from different organizations and programs will be along the pathways; performers, including professors Mike Roos and Anthony Malone along with Will Lundrum of Lovechild Records, will be presenting music in the courtyard during the fair.

A Reading Across Cultures will be held on Thursday, April 28, in the Muntz Lobby from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The readers will consist of faculty, staff, and students who will read prose and poetry by writers from various cultures.

The Grand Finale will take place on Friday, April 29, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on the Courtyard and Commons. Free food, cornhole games, basketball, and volleyball will be available that day, while the 2nd Wind Jazz and R&B band will perform.
