“Night at the Museum” stars Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Robin Williams and Ricky Gervals. The movie starts out with Ben Stiller waiting for the right opportunity to make it big with his inventions. He is always moving, looking for a lucky break, and it is really affecting his son. His ex-wife and the mother of his son gets angry and tells him he can not see his son anymore, unless he can keep a steady job.
Consequently, the main character, Ben Stiller ends up getting a job at a local history museum as a night guard. He finds out that after everyone leaves at night the whole museum comes alive and he has to keep everything in place or history will be lost.
At first he is freaked out and ready to quit but drags himself back in there for the sake of his son. He learns how to restore peace in the museum, and everything is now calm. Moreover, he learns how great his job is and that it’s about family and not making money.
The movie was a big let-down for myself. Although there are some funny parts, most of the humorous parts were in the commercials for the film.
Despite the famous actors, the film moves at a slow pace and I kept wondering when we would get the happy ending, so that we could leave. The eighteen dollars we spent to see the movie could have been better spent somewhere else. I expected a lot more humor to come out of this movie.
Everyone has his or her own opinion. But in my personal opinion the movie is really disappointing. You can decide for yourself.
