The RWC Radiology Club participated in the Hike for Hospice fundraiser on October 6. According to Professor Angie Arnold, Coordinator of the Radiology Technology program, the event was a great success.”We had a total of seven students and two faculty members that participated,” Arnold said. Also, two students brought their children, one also brought a grandchild, Arnold brought her niece, two students brought husbands, and two students brought their dogs.
“They actually announced “Raymond Walters College Radiology Club” several times when announcing sponsors/clubs participating,” Arnold said.
The event reportedly raised over $53,000 for Hospice of Cincinnati.
The radiology technology profession involves working with many terminally ill patients and many of the students have had personal interactions with a Hospice facility.
Not everybody in the club could attend, but members voted unanimously to donate some of their club funds because they felt it was a worthy cause.
The donation from the club’s fund came out to be $85. The students and staff who participated were the following:
Tracy Herrmann (Department Chair of Allied Health), Angie Arnold, Kelly Clyde, Shelia Crum, Andrea Clark, Crystal Gehl, Donna Menke, Tina Jones, Tami Pottenger, Billie Stewart, and Jessica Gray.
