This Thursday, April 28, from 3-9 p.m., the UC Chapter of the American Association of University Professors will host “Living History: From Yesterday’s Social Movement to Today’s Labor Battles in Ohio and Beyond.” The event will be held in Rooms 422E, 502, and 616B of Rieveschl Hall on the Clifton Campus and will offer a look into the history of unions for public employees and the current debate over labor unions in America.
Attendees will see films and participate in workshops. The three films presented will focus on Dr. Martin Luther King’s assassination and the 1968 Sanitation Works Strike, the life and career of Frances Perkins, and the similar debates held across the country. The workshop will focus on how you can understand who is behind movements and legislation.
