RWC faculty and staff are walking to promote good health with Ohio On the Move. Ohio on the Move is part of America On the Move, a national initiative dedicated to helping individuals and communities across the nation make positive changes to improve health and quality of life. America On the Move challenges participants to stop weight gain by balancing the energy they burn with the calories they consume.
Originally UC Clermont participated in America On the Move. Now, RWC has decided to participate in America On the Move as well. A contest has been started between the colleges to see which faculty and staff can walk the most. Participants will all be purchasing individual pedometers to track the amount of steps they take throughout a five-week period.
The winning college will receive a Traveling Trophy in the form of a walking stick. “It’s not about winning or losing because everyone wins with good health,” said Dr. Robert Howell, RWC Director of Outreach and Continuing Education.
