As part of the University of Cincinnati’s Sexual Assault Awareness Month, RWC’s Student Life and Multicultural Affairs will be hosting “Window of Hope” on April 19, from 2-3:30 p.m. The event is to take place in Room 100 of SAHB and is free of charge. The event is to discuss the current oppression that Iraqi women are facing since the beginning of the United States occupation of the country. The flier for the event states that it will include commentary from women involved in the push to “create a secular, democratic Iraq free of both US occupation and Islamist coercion.”
The forum will be recorded by the E-media Department of the College and will be posted on-line for use by students and professors alike.
Students who have resided at the University will note that the University has changed its Sexual Assault Awareness Month from the fall to April. This was done in order to keep with national trends that recognize this month as Awareness Month.
