Outdoor Enjoyment: Blood Moon in Ault Park

During the summer, Ault Park has a monthly gathering for the full moon. It’s a free gathering, and anyone can come from anywhere. I attended the last gathering of the year on a recent Sunday and was lucky enough to see the full eclipse happen, along with witnessing the blood moon.

My first impression when pulling into the park, was holy sh*t. This park looks amazing. The entrance was beautiful. I went with two of my friends, so once we parked we started walking into one of the gardens, then out to the open field. We found the drum circle and sat around it for a while and watched the few people who were brave enough to dance. Then we all had to go to the bathroom, so we walked back toward the field to the stairs, that felt like they took forever to make it up. The bathrooms were super hard to find, but we eventually found them, and of course the fire alarm was going off. We ran into this guy who began talking to us about sacred geometry, and some of the mystery powers it has on us. Sacred geometry isn’t something that can easily be explain, its so incredibly complicated.

One of the things that he showed us was this magic card trick. No he didn’t just shuffle some cards and make one disappear. He had us hold our dominate hand over what is called metatron’s cube, and see if we could feel the energy coming off of it. He then told us to hold the card so that the cube was in the middle of our forehead, or over the third eye. Then he told us that it would beginning messing with our emotions, as in we would go from being extremely calm to happy then back to being calm. As soon as I put it by the third eye I could feel it. I started laughing because I felt so happy; then I calmed down. We got his name and then headed back towards the drum circle. Before we headed back one of the guys I was with wanted to roll down the grass hill instead of walking down the stairs. So we rolled down the hill. We had to wait a few minutes to get up because the hill was pretty long, and we were super dizzy. Once we regained the ability to walk, we headed back towards the drum circle. This time we didn’t sit down; the three of us started dancing because of course at this point there were a lot of people dancing instead of the three or four from before.

I don’t remember how long we danced, but we had a great time. The same guy who wanted to roll down the hill ended up playing the drums for a while. Someone was playing the saxophone and he was amazing. There were a few people dancing with hoola-hoops, and some other stuff. If there is somewhere you want to go and not feel judged, this was the place to be.

The whole reason all of this was happening was because of the super blood moon that was happening. So, at this point the moon was huge in the center of the sky. Throughout the night I had noticed that it was slowly getting smaller and smaller. Well not that it was getting smaller just that you could see less and less of it as time went on. We were worn out because of all of the dancing and decided to sit down and watch the moon disappear. This was the first time that I had ever watched the moon literally disappear out of the sky. It just slowly started to go away, and the light from it stopped shining. It was the most breathtaking thing I’d ever witnessed.

Throughout the night I met new people, and had a great time with the people I went with. I always said I wanted to watch the moon do crazy things, but was never available to watch them actually happen. Being able to watch this for the first time made my night. Spending a Sunday night at Ault Park to see the full moon is something everyone should consider doing.
