Rhythm 'N' Blue Ash Begins Next Week

On November 13, 2013

UCBA's Rhythm 'N' Blue Ash concert series returns to the campus for the 2013-14 season.
This year's program begins with The Chenille Sisters, who will perform here November 23. Cheryl Dawdy, Grace Morand, and Connie Huber blend harmonies that have been described as "heavenly" in a show filled with passion, heart, and comedy.
On February 15, Lisa Biales, known as "Belle of the Blues," will bring a down home blues vernacular combined with finger style guitar to create songs that feel like they have been around forever. Lisa will be joined by Ricky Nye on piano and Chris Douglas on upright bass.
"The Wonder Bread Years," starring Pat Hazell, is scheduled for March 8. This one-man-show salutes the baby boomer generation and the nostalgia of family life in the 1960's.  Hazell, an original writer for the sitcom "Seinfeld," walks the line between stand-up comedy and theater.
Finally, on April 5, the Faux Frenchmen, a local group of musicians who follow the traditions of Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club movement of the 1930s, will perform a blend of European and American jazz, better known as "gypsy jazz."  The group is made up of acoustic guitarists Brian Lovely and George Cunningham, acoustic bassist Don Aren, and violinist Paul Patterson.
All Rhythm 'N' Blue Ash performances are held at 8 p.m. in Muntz Theater.
