Student Life Office Seeking Orientation Leaders
Throughout the months of December and January, the UCBA Student Life Office will be holding information sessions for the student Orientation Leader (SOL) program.
The sessions will take place on December 4 from 2-3 p.m.; January 15 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.; January 16 from 10-11 a.m.; and January 21 from 1-2 p.m. All meetings will take place in Room 100 of Walters Hall.
The SOL position is one of UCBA's premiere student leadership opportunities.
As orientation leaders, students are the face of UCBA during all orientation and convocation sessions.
They mingle with new students and their families, facilitate discussions, and share campus information through tours and question and answer sessions.
Students are required to complete 10 hours of training, 50 hours of orientation, and 10 hours of convocation.
All hours are spread throughout the months of May, June, July, and August.
As leaders, students receive hourly compensation, are given the opportunity to build leadership, teamwork and public speaking skills, and are then eligible to apply for the Student Ambassador position, which includes a scholarship that covers tuition and fees.
