Campus Activities Board to Give Students Voice
Student Life is giving UCBA students the opportunity to use their voice and get involved with the campus. Student Life will be developing a Campus Activities Board (CAB) starting Winter Quarter 2012; new programs will be active in Fall 2012.
The CAB will be a student-run organization that provides UCBA students the opportunity to plan campus events that are educational, cultural, and entertaining for the student body.
Student Life wants students to contribute to a more well-rounded social, recreational, and cultural life at UCBA. These events could include concerts, movie showings, motivational speakers, dances, learn-how-to sessions and even field trips.
The events will have to meet university standards and fit one of its Learning Outcomes.
The CAB will be an opportunity for students to develop leadership and organizational skills that can be applied after college. The events will also be a way for students to connect with fellow students and faculty.
The following is the CAB Tentative Timeline:
Winter 2012 Quarter: Information sessions and Table Talk.
Spring 2012 Quarter: Start applications for board members and conceptualizing the group's mission, values, and the 2012-13 timeline.
Fall 2012 Semester: Initiate organization and start implementing ideas.
