Dental Hygiene Student Gets Free Tuition
Rebecca Zeiler is the winner of free tuition for the fall semester at UC Blue Ash College and the news couldn’t have come at a better time.
“I just recently had surgery on my vo- cal chords, which meant I wasn’t able to work for a few weeks. Getting free tuition for the semester is a huge help since I am saving everything I can to pay my own way for college,” said Zeiler, who works as a hostess at a restaurant.
The free tuition is the result of a pro- gram at UC Blue Ash that encourages stu- dents to register early for the upcoming semesters so they can get the classes and schedule they prefer.
Those who register by the desig- nated deadline are automatically entered into a drawing to win free tuition. Rebec- ca’s name was drawn from a pool of 1,770
eligible students.
The fall semester at UC Blue Ash be-
gan August 25 and runs through Decem- ber 13. The free tuition covers all instruc- tional costs for the semester and is valued at approximately $3,000.
“We are always happy to help our bright and talented students pursue an education,” said Dr. Cady Short-Thomp- son, Dean of UC Blue Ash. “I am excited for Rebecca and really glad to hear that this gift of free tuition came at the perfect time.”
Rebecca is a graduate of Mt. Healthy High School and is studying to become a dental hygienist. She chose to attend UC Blue Ash because it offers a great dental hygiene program and she liked the idea of earning her degree from the University of Cincinnati.
