UC Blue Ash to Dash 5K for Scholarships October 11
The 2nd Annual UC Blue Ash Dash 5K Run/Walk for Scholarships will be held on Saturday, October 11 at 8:30 a.m. on the UCBA campus.
Proceeds from the event will go to- ward establishing even more scholar- ships that will help support current or future UC Blue Ash students who show a real commitment to their academics and to earning a college degree.
The College hopes to build on the momentum from its first 5K fundraiser to support scholarships for students. Last year’s inaugural event had 425 partici- pants and raised more than $28,000.
“Because financial barriers are the number one reason why our students are forced to stop-out or drop-out of col- lege, we hope to see a large turnout of
local residents and community partners joining our students, alumni, faculty and staff in supporting this important cause,” said Dr. Cady Short-Thompson, Dean of UC Blue Ash College.
The chip-timed 5K will begin in the center of the UCBA campus, travel north on Plainfield Road just south of the Car- penter’s Run intersection and loop back to the campus for the finish. Participants can run or walk. There will be individual and team awards available.
If you’re not a runner or walker, you can still do your part to support stu- dents. “We are again offering the fun option of sleeping in for scholarships,” said Meredith Delaney, UCBA Director of Development and Alumni Relations. “You don’t need to actually participate in the
5K, but with your entry fee you will still receive a free UC Blue Ash Dash t-shirt and gift bag while supplies last, along with the satisfaction of helping a deserv- ing student advance their education and pursue their dream.”
