Don't Waste Your Right to Vote

By Mack Davis, Activist Staff

For a large percentage of UCBA students, this will be the first time they’ve had the opportunity to vote.  You see the billboards and signs all over, and you may even see the commercials from the candidates.  The importance of utilizing your right to vote can’t be understated.

To see the sheer power of young people when it comes to voting, look no further than President Obama being elected.  His campaign really got the young people involved, and it led to two presidential terms for him.

At this stage in life we have a great deal of power in the voting process, so don’t waste it.

Get out and vote, no matter what party you are affiliated with.

Especially for the African Americans at UCBA, our ancestors fought and died for our rights to vote.  We can’t sit idly by and allow their efforts to be in vain.
