Can a Rugby Star Make it in the NFL?
Jarryd Hayne, National Rugby League star in Australia, will be quitting his career as a Rugby player in order to take a chance at becoming an NFL player in North America.
After being named the best Rugby player in the league for a second time, Hayne is chasing his dream of becoming an NFL star.
After speaking with Detroit Lion Reggie Bush, Hayne believes he can make it in the NFL as a kick or punt returner. Hayne says he believes he has the quickness to do so.
After watching his film as a Rugby player, many believe that he could also be on the kickoff and punt teams because of his ability to make open-field tackles.
In addition to the chance at becoming an NFL Player, there is more risk to this story.
After signing a lifetime-agreement that states he can never play for another team besides the Parramatta Eels, the 26-year old Hayne will not be able to return to the Eels if his NFL dream does not work out for him.
It will be interesting to see how Hayne’s story unfolds.
