The UCBA Multicultural Affairs Office has announced several events during February to celebrate Black History Month.

On Thursday, February 5, there will be a Humanities Lecture by Holly McGee, Assistant Professor of History, called “The Black Man’s Burden: Freedom, Citizenship, and Rhetorical Progress in a Post-Racial America.”  It will be held in Walters 100 from 12:30-2 p.m.

Monday, February 9, is National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, which includes free HIV testing and a lecture from the Cincinnati Health Department.  The lecture will be in Walters 100, and the testing will be in Walters 119.  Both will be held 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Tuesday, February 24, will be the 26th Annual African American Read-In, which will feature readings of selected works from African American authors by UC Blue Ash faculty, staff, and students.  The purpose is to highlight literary significance in black history.  A soul food lunch will be served.
