Airline ticket grand prize for International Education Week
November 13-16 RWC will be part of UC's celebration of International Education Week, which has been labled an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. In the process, students will have the opportunity to win a free round-trip airline ticket to anywhere in the world.Since it began in 2000, International Education Week (IEW) has grown in size and scope. The following are some of the events taking place on this campus:
* Throughout the week, an international flag display in Muntz Hall and SAHB, as well as an interactive map display and a display for RWC Study Abroad programs.
* Tuesday, Nov. 13, 12:30-1:30 p.m., a culturalogue on "The Meeting Point of All Spiritual Traditions," presented by Matthew Flickstein, distinguished author and teacher of meditation. Flickstein is producing a documentary film about different spiritual leaders from 15 different traditions. Contact Professor Mike Roos for more information.
* Wednesday, Nov. 14, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Study Abroad information tables in Muntz and SAHB. Get information about RWC's study abroad programs. At 2 p.m., there will be a study abroad information meeting for all interested students in Muntz 258. Heather Haynes, a student in the 2007 RWC British Study Abroad Program, will give a PowerPoint presentation on her experiences.
* Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2 p.m., a German language film, "The Lives of Others" in Muntz 349B.
* Friday, November 16, 2 p.m., in Muntz 349B, the award-winning Spanish language fantasy film, "Pan's Labyrinth," considered a spiritual sequel to "The Devil's Backbone."
At each of these events, volunteers will be stamping International Education Week passports (which will be available for free at each event). Students can submit their stamped passport to the Language Lab in Muntz Hall for the Grand Prize drawing prior to the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Students must collect at least two stamps and submit their passports before Thanksgiving to be eligible.
The grand prize is a free round-trip airline ticket to anywhere in the world ($1200 value).
