Inspirational Games
On May 4, 2012 the Greek community once again blew everyone away with a new and improved philanthropy event. Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) put on this event to help disabled students get out of the classroom and have some fun for the day.
Fifteen schools came and enjoyed the fun (Anderson, Colerain, Deer Park Local, Dulls, Hughes, Mason Heights Elementary, Mason, Three Rivers, Rapid Run, Reading High School, Terry Sharp, and Woodlawn). SAE raised $600 for the Special Olympics of Hamilton County, and also Children's Medical Network (their national philanthropy).
With all of these participants, SAE had to find multiple places to make this event possible. The first round of events happened at the UC Track. Here the students played baseball, ran some laps, and also played soccer. Next, students went to the UC Recreational Center where they enjoyed a game of basketball. This was a great opportunity not only for the participants to get involved but also for the Greek community to be a part of this event.
Each of the participants made a huge impact on all the Greek students that helped SAE accomplish their goal for the Special Olympics Fun Day. Seven of the Fraternities and eight Sororities donated money and helped coach the participants.
Not only is SAE proud of their accomplishment, so is the rest of the Greek community that watched such an inspiring event unfold.
