Library upgrades services

The RWC Library is offering a variety of new and/or upgraded services for teachers and students. With e-reserves, teachers can make information and class materials readily available for students on the Internet. Teachers can submit information to the library to put on e-reserves.

There is no longer a 14-Day Collection at the Library, because there wasn't enough use of the service. Those materials formally put in the 14-Day Collection are available on OhioLink, and at the public libraries of Cincinnati and Hamilton County.

The library faculty are evaluating their entire collection in order to better serve the teachers and students.

The Library has recently developed a new bookmark for the RWC Career Services Office. You can find these in the section of the Library behind the reference area. You can also find them on the RWC Library's website.

Don't get rid of your old books or magazines. Give them to the Library. When you donate, you can be part of the Give and Take program. That is, you can turn in some old and get some new. This is a very cost-effective method of expanding your reading horizons.

Recently, the Library conducted a survey to assess its performance. Results showed that most of the students found the library's information useful and the staff helpful. One student stated: "The library staff is very helpful and accommodating to students' needs. They all know me by name and always remember every time I walk into the library." That is always good to hear.

The Library Display Case (found outside the library entrance) is available for use by RWC faculty, staff and students. If you are interested in reserving the display case, contact Michelle McKinney at michelle.mckinney@uc.edu or 936-1546.
