Parking Reminders
Assistant Dean Gene Kramer wants to remind everyone that the speed limit on UCBA's campus is 15 miles per hour at all times. Especially with the construction going on, Kramer says it is imperative that students, faculty, and visitors abide by the speed limit.
Also, Campus Parking Services strongly suggest that students purchase a decal for their vehicles. Decals are included in tuition and fees and can be picked up in the Student Life Office in Muntz Hall. Dean Kramer says that the decals are very important for safety, since campus police are not allowed to trace license plates, having a decal makes it easy to identify those involved in an accident.
The price of parking outside of your designated decal area could be costly. The fine for parking in a reserved area with no visible decal is $75 and $150 after five business days. Using someone else's decal can be pricey as well, with a $20 fine, which doubles after one week. Going over the 15 miles per hour limit when caught is a $50 fine, which also doubles in a week.
The College has placed new 15 MPH speed limit signs throughout the campus, and campus police will be looking for students, staff, and visitors who are violating parking rules.
