Severe penalties await unofficial withdrawals

By Greg Jivoin
On November 1, 2004

The last day to officially withdraw from or "drop" a class is November 18. "Students not dropping officially is a huge problem," says Debbie Smith, head of RWC Registration. "The ramifications of this can result in students being put on probation, suspension, and even being dismissed because of GPA problems."

When students don't officially withdraw from a class that they have stopped attending, the class is calculated as an F in their GPA for the quarter.

Official withdraw slips are available from Registration in the One-Stop Center in Muntz hall.
