Although many students believe that they cannot afford to take part in the many amazing Study Abroad programs offered at UCBA, they could not be more incorrect. UCBA offers numerous scholarships to assist students who are interested in Study Abroad opportunities.

There are three scholarships specifically designed for students who are traveling with one of the UCBA Study Abroad programs. The Christie Study Abroad, Lee Baker Jr. Study Abroad, and John D. and Marjorie E. Sipple Study Abroad scholarships are three financial aid opportunities that can help students.

The Christie Study Abroad awards two students a $1,000 scholarship in one installment during the Spring Quarter. Students have to be enrolled in a UC Blue Ash College Study Abroad program to gain this scholarship. It was developed as a way to help students with the costs of the Study Abroad program. The criteria for this scholarship include enrollment in a UCBA degree program, good academic standing at the start of the Autumn Quarter of the academic year in which the scholarship is awarded, and the students have to be enrolled in their first Study Abroad program.

The next scholarship that students can apply for to help them with the cost of their Study Abroad course is the Lee Baker Jr. Study Abroad scholarhip. The Baker Scholarship is one $500 scholarship, which is awarded in one installment during Spring Quarter. This scholarship is awarded annually to help provide students enrolled in the Study Abroad program. And the scholarship was established by family and friends of Lee Baker, a former UCBA professor, as a way to assist current students with the costs of Study Abroad programs.

The third of the three scholarships to help students pay for their Study Abroad program at UCBA is the John D. and Marjorie E. Sipple Study Abroad Scholarship. This is a $200 scholarship that is awarded in one installment during the Spring Quarter. This scholarship is awarded to one student in the Summer British Study Abroad Program. It was established to honor John D. and Marjorie E. Sipple by their daughter, Sue Sipple, as a way to help students with the costs of the UCBA Study Abroad program.

In addition to these scholarship opportunities, there is also the Dean's Summer Scholarship which students can apply for. There are a total of eight $500 scholarships awarded for UCBA students taking classes during the summer quarter for a minimum of 6 credit hours. The criteria for this scholarship include being an accepted student in a UCBA degree or certificate program, enrollment of at least 6 credit hours in Spring Quarter and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

With all of these wonderful scholarship opportunities, more UCBA students should attempt to take part in one of the Study Abroad programs offered at UCBA next year. Although the price of some Study Abroad programs may seem high initially, if students apply for these scholarships, they will find the Study Abroad programs much more affordable.
