Our UCBA Legacy
Activist Staff Share Memories, Goodbyes, and Best Wishes
Samantha Altman: UCBA has been my only college experience so far and I've loved every minute of it. I've attended this university for three years. I've made great friends not just with my fellow students, but my professors as well. A few professors (you know who you are) have greatly impacted my writing and my life as well as my education. I've been lucky to be involved with the literary magazine and now with the newspaper. I'm now moving on to a different chapter in my life that will take me to the University of Akron and I sincerely hope that the experience is at least as rewarding as it has been for me here. Thank you UCBA!
Emily Begley: Even though I have only been a student at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College for one year, I feel that it has become a significant part of my life. I have learned so much in my classes and from the professors that I have had here. Next year, I will be taking a little more than half of my classes at UCBA - I will be taking the rest at Main Campus in order to earn the credits I need for my Journalism major. Even though I know I will like Main, I will really miss being a full-time student at this school. I really enjoyed the small classes and the personal assistance I was able to get from my professors - something that would have been impossible at a larger school. This has been an excellent experience, and I can confidently say that beginning my college career at UCBA was the right decision.
Caitlin Hauff: This year is my last year being at University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College (UCBA), and even being on quarters. I will be transferring to Main Campus next year to pursue my Bachelors Degree. The thing that I will be taking away with me from this campus is the respect that I get from being here. I at first didn't want to go to UC, and was even more upset when I was told I was going to the branch campus. I look back at it now, and I am so thankful for all the support I have gotten over the years. The teachers here really do care about us, and going to Raymond Walters/UCBA, has taught me a lot.
I have been able to get the same credits as students who attend Main Campus, but I have saved my money by going here my first two years. I have met amazing people who I can now call my best friends, and that I can't wait to see when we're all at Main.
Being a member of the newspaper has given me the memories I loved while being in High School, even if I wasn't on the newspaper staff. I was an editor for yearbook at Sycamore High School, and it brought back the best memories I had while attending there. I love to interview students and staff to get their opinions on issues at campus as well outside of campus.
I can't wait to see what next year has in store for all of these amazing students!
Josh Newman: Being at UC Blue Ash College has been one of the most wonderful experiences I've ever had. Over the last two years, UC Blue Ash has become much less than a school- and much more like a home. The people here have become like family. Leaving after this quarter will be incredibly difficult. But I can rest assured that, I'll be walking out of the doors of this school a much better, happier and more confident person then when I first walked in.
Amona Refaei: Becoming a student at UCBA was one of the best decisions I've made so far in my life. Not because of the low tuition prices but because the professors at UCBA really care about helping their students to succeed. At many other colleges the student to professor ratio is much higher and because of this numerous students do not succeed. UCBA's small class sizes and dedicated faculty are two of the biggest reasons why I enjoyed being a student at this school so much.
Risha Wheeler: Wow, I can't believe the time has finally come for me to say goodbye to UCBA. Well, something that I feel that I will leave at UCBA is my integrity. I always stood up for what I felt was right and never compromised my morals or values to do so. What I will be taking from UCBA is a better understanding of life and the feeling of home away from home. I don't know what main campus has in store for me but if I don't like it, I'm coming BACK!
