Vet Tech to Provide Free Pet Health Day

By Sarah Urmston
On September 24, 2012

On Sunday, October 7, the Vet Tech program will be providing a free Pet Health Day at the St. Francis Seraph Church on Liberty and Vine streets, downtown, between the hours of noon and 4 p.m.
There will be a blessing of the animals provided at 11:30 a.m., and at noon pets will be examined by veterinarians and staff. Some may even receive vaccinations if necessary, reduced cost spaying and neutering, and fleas and minor health treatments. Rabies certificates and tags will be given to owners.
Free dog and cat food will be provided as a bonus.
There is a limit of four pets per owner, and the animals can not have bitten anyone in the prior 14 days. The first 200 pets will be served, and there may also be a wait, so owners should bring food and water for their pets.
Aggressive animals will be asked to leave and will not be examined.
